Events and Courses

A Bit Lit is going interactive! Whether you’ve enjoyed our videos in the past or you’re new to A Bit Lit, we can’t wait to tell you about our new venture.

We believe learning with others while having access to cutting edge research should be available to everyone, so we’ve teamed up with a host of talented creatives and academics to design a range of online events and courses that are both accessible and fun.

The platform builds on our existing library of free films to find new ways to explore history and culture together.

The platform launches on Jan 15, 2022 with our first interactive event A Day Out at Shakespeare’s Theatre, working with theatre historians, archaeologists and classical, improv and experimental performers to create a fun two hours exploring theatre in Shakespeare’s time.

Following this event, there will be a four-week course that builds on our exploration of Shakespearean theatre from the point of view of four key members of a theatrical event: audiences, actors, producers and characters.

We’ll soon be announcing a further programme covering a range of historic and cultural topics – why not sign up to our mailing list, below, to find out more.

Our new education platform is guided by our brilliant group of patrons:

  • Jill Bradbury
  • Nandini Das
  • Eleanor Janega
  • Julie Sanders
  • Rebecca Rideal
  • Wanda Wyporska

A Bit Lit is committed to keeping our ticket prices as affordable as possible. If you would like to support us in this initiative, you can donate (separate to the ticket price) via the ticket options on the first event. Thank you very much for your support.
