Dee Heddon and Clare Qualmann talk us through their work on the place of walking in creative practice and community during Covid. They talk about walking as a kind of performance or participatory social practice, as a prompt to creativity, and discuss art works that invite the audience to imagine the act of walking. We hear about the materiality and texture of the streets, and the ability of walking to remap community spaces. This is, they tell us, iterative, speculative research which asks how people have experienced walking during a pandemic, and how artists have used walking in their creative practice.
